Kidnapped Missionaries Still Await Rescue

An Ohio-based Christian Aid Ministries says they are holding a special day of prayer and fasting for the 17 kidnapped missionaries and their family members.

Members of the aid group were in Haiti visiting an orphanage north of the capital, Port-au-Prince, last weekend when they were kidnapped by a criminal gang.

In Port-au-Prince in response to the wave of kidnappings, workers continue to stage a protest strike that shuttered businesses, schools, and public transportation for several days now.

Negotiations stretched into a fourth day as the gang is demanding a one-million-dollar ransom per person.
