New Altoona Police Chief Sworn In

The City of Altoona has sworn in a new police chief.

Chief Kelly Bakken was sworn in on Monday. This is the first time a woman has served as chief for the Altoona department. 

Bakken was previously the Black River Falls Police Chief, where she was the city’s first female chief.

The position in Altoona was previously held by Jesse James who is now serving in the Wisconsin State Assembly.
