Osseo Man Arrested for Stealing Vehicle

An Osseo man is charged after being accused of stealing a vehicle and a service dog while under the influence.

The criminal complaint says 26-year-old Nathan Hakes was arrested December 23rd. It says a vehicle with a service dog inside was stolen from a private lot on Barstow Street in Eau Claire while the owner of the vehicle was in a restaurant. Court documents say the owner used a cellphone app and tracked the vehicle to the parking lot behind Scooter’s on Galloway Street. Hakes was found inside the bar, with the dog. Hakes denied stealing the vehicle and dog despite eyewitness claims.
