A Wood County couple is now officially charged after the death of their newborn.
Marylinn Feher and Allen Rice appeared in court Monday.
The two were expected to be charged last month, but the judge waited for an autopsy to be completed.
According to the criminal complaint, the child died of blunt force trauma to the head, and apparent strangulation.
Officers found the child wrapped in a bath towel inside a tied plastic garbage bag in the rear cargo portion of a vehicle in the medical center’s parking lot.
On Monday, Feher was charged with first degree intentional homicide and neglecting a child and the child’s father, Allen Rice is charged with neglecting a child and obstructing an officer.
Both will return to court on June 12, when judge will rule if there is enough evidence for their cases to head to trial. They’ll also enter pleas to their charges.
