This week in our County By County special we are taking a look at La Crosse County. Fox 25/48’s Zach Prelutsky gives us a preview of what you can expect for La Crosse County.
From the river to railroads, and bluffs to breweries, La Crosse County has a rich history and a bright future. This week in our County By County series we are taking you to spots that are engrained in the fabric of the county.
We’ll take you back in time to the infancy of La Crosse and show how this region in western Wisconsin came to be what it is today. You will also hear from people who have studied the history of the area and those who continue to contribute to it to this day.
“You think about La Crosse and you think yeah, it’s a nice place to live and work and play and all of that, but it’s not until you get out and you start traveling around the other states and the rest of the country where you really realize how special La Crosse is.”
“I think a lot of people will say that have traveled through here or have been to other parts of the country and come here this is God’s country. This is one of the most beautiful places to live.”
“La Crosse is a fantastic. I think of it as kind of an oasis you know in the middle of nowhere, in the middle of the Coulee Region. La Crosse is unique because it doesn’t rely on the economy of some major city. La Crosse isn’t a suburb of something else, it’s its own thing.”
For those that live and work in the county it is a place like no other. Every night this week we will tell you stories about the places, the people, and the history of La Crosse County in this County By County special.
And we will bring you an hour-long County By County special Sunday night right after the Fox 25/48 First News at Nine.
