Recount Effort In Wisconsin

News

And that push to recount votes in those three key states just got backing from the Clinton campaign. Fox News correspondent Bryan llenas has the latest on the debate, and what the president-elect is saying. Hillary Clinton, officially joining the fight to revisit voting totals in Wisconsin, saying her team is participating because they have an obligation to the voters.

The recount effort is being led by Green party candidate Jill Stein, but Clinton’s camp, now saying it is also on board, if Stein also follows through with recount requests in Michigan and Pennsylvania, two other states pivotal to trump’s victory on election night. However, even the staunchest Democrats concede this will likely not change the results of the election.

“Of course, they’ve joined it, it’s taking a process, it’s a legal right, I don’t think it’s a big deal. I don’t think anybody-secretary Clinton or anyone thinks there’s going to be profound changes, we will see what happens.”

“Look, prior to the election, because of what Donald Trump said, a majority of his voters believed the elections were rigged, a minority of Clinton voters believed they were rigged-let’s show the American public that they’re not.”

President elect Donald trump is pushing back against the plans to re-count, calling the process a, quote, “scam.” Mr. trump unleashing a stream of angry tweets Sunday morning, saying, quote, “Hillary Clinton conceded the election when she called me just prior to the victory speech and after the results were in. nothing will change.”

“Why in the world can’t the Democrats, quote, ‘accept the election results?’ President Obama and president-elect Trump speak regularly, they spoke yesterday at length. they’re trying to move on and form a government, it’s high time that Hillary and her supporters do the same.”

The Clinton camp says they’ll have representatives monitoring the count, as well as lawyers to represent them in court, should it come to that. Deadlines to petition for a recount in Michigan and Pennsylvania are later this week.
