Entertainment, food, and the color green filled an annual St. Patrick’s Day dinner.
The celebration took place at the Sacred Heart-St. Patrick Parish Center in Eau Claire.
The St. Patrick’s Day Dinner featured corned beef and cabbage, lots of festive attire, and music from the Eau Claire Ukulele Club.
While St. Patrick’s Day fell on a Sunday this year, the event is typically held the Sunday before St. Patrick’s Day.
More than 80 volunteers helped serve and prepare the food, which includes 310 pounds of corned beef.
“It’s a long process. We start by boiling it for 4-5 hours. Our roasts run between 12, 15, 20 pounds, so they’re different than the three pounders you’ll get in the store. We prepare it, and then prepare it with a brown sugar topping and roast it again,” said Jeanne Reber.
Organizers expected to serve more than 300 people.
Funds raised go to family life committee activities and religious education programs.
