Drinking water is hard to come by for some hurricane survivors in Puerto Rico. We’re learning that utility workers distributed water from a well designated as a hazardous waste site. Leyla Santiago has the latest.
The water well is located at the Dorado groundwater contamination site that was set for a cleanup. The EPA said last year that the site was polluted with industrial chemicals that can cause liver damage and increase cancer risks.
It’s still unclear if there are any health risks from that particular well and the agency plans to do testing in the area over the weekend.
