With just a day until he takes the oath of office, president-elect Donald Trump is taking it all in as he and his family arrive in Washington this morning. Fox News correspondent, Joel Waldman, is outside the nation’s capital with all the latest.
“There’s currently a massive security effort underway with more than 28,000 law enforcement officials in D.C. ahead of tomorrow’s inauguration.”
“There’s nothing specific, no credible threat.”
Despite no specific threats, heavily armed police are patrolling the nation’s capital. Law enforcement agents say they are ready to respond to possible large scale protests — preparing well in advance of Friday’s inauguration.
“Just this past week I went to training facility, every member of the secret service is going to be involved in the parade route. We went through 40 scenarios.”
The president-elect, meanwhile, arriving here in Washington this morning, preparing to take the oath of office in less than 24-hours. Mike Pence is also getting ready for the historic moment.
“The job is to be ready on day one. The American people can be confident.”
This afternoon, Mr. Trump and his family joining the Pence family for a wreath laying ceremony at Arlington Cemetery in honor of our nation’s fallen veterans.
