UW-La Crosse has reached a settlement with 2 former employees who sued the university last fall.
The UW system board of regents announced the settlement today.
Sandra Sieber will receive more than 20-thousand dollars and will transfer into a new position at the university.
Jay Lokken didn’t receive money but his legal fees were covered.
Both worked in the Office of International Education when Sieber claimed UW-L didn’t advertise or consider her for another position and instead picked a woman married to a man who oversees the department.
Lokken says when he opposed the hire the university retaliated against him.
Sieber will transfer into a new position in UW-L’s donor relations advancement division.
Lokken says he won’t return to UW-L.
