Tuesday evening the Veterans Memorial Pool Campaign will host a public pool preview in La Crosse.
From 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the La Crosse Public Library, updated drawings, photos of construction progress and videos will be shown.
City staff, design team members and campaign volunteers will also be in attendance to answer any questions.
Construction of the $3.1 million project next to UW-L began in November of 2018.
“It is on track and the pool will be open this summer and it’s going to be a pool unlike anything else in the city of La Crosse. We have two great pools that are kind of more splash park concept pools, but this is going to be a full swimming pool with eight lanes and a diving board and a slide and room for lap swim and water aerobics,” said Veterans Memorial Pool Steering Committee Member Kate Escher.
An update on the $500,000 fundraiser will also be announced.
Veterans Memorial Pool originally closed down back in 2016 due to an overwhelming amount of maintenance and not enough funds.
