Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker fighting against the opioid epidemic. Walker signing three executive orders today, based on recommendations from the Task Force on Opioid Abuse, which was created in September (2016).
Those actions including calling a special session to discuss how to act on the recommendations of the task force.
Directing state agencies to take action to prevent opioid abuse, and asking the state’s Department of Health Services to apply for federal funding.
“When it comes to the challenges that this crisis creates in the state, it knows no boundaries. It can be in a small town or a big city, or suburb or anywhere in between. It can be rich or poor. It knows no boundaries when it comes to race or sex or political party.”
Walker also made a stop at HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chippewa Falls this afternoon.
