Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – A new poll is out and its good news for Democrats here in the Badger State. Marquette University Law School released a poll today asking voters who they’d choose in the upcoming races for governor and US Senate.

In the senate race, Democratic Lieutenant Governor Mandela Barnes leads Republican Incumbent Senator Ron Johnson by seven points, 51 to 44 percent. That’s up from Barnes’s two point lead in Marquette’s June poll.

In the contest for governor, it’s a closer race. Democratic Incumbent Governor Tony Evers leads Republican businessman Tim Michels by only two percentage points, 45 to 43. That’s down from Evers 48 to 41 lead in the June poll. The poll had 811 responses, with a margin of error of plus-or-minus four-point-two percent.
