CHIPPEWA VALLEY Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – A wild night of weather left some people in the Chippewa Valley cleaning up and many without power. There were dozens of reports of downed trees.
A tree was uprooted at a home near Dell’s Pond on Eau Claire’s northside. The homeowner says the tree was there when he bought the house 30 years ago.
“We’ve been here just about 30 years, so it was here when we bought the house. Like I said, its sad that we lost it but what are you going to do. I’m surprised we didn’t hear it, so it must have come down awfully slowly with the minimal damage that it caused.”
This isn’t the only house with damage from the storm. Workers with the city of Eau Claire were driving around cleaning up debris this morning, including on House Road on Eau Claire’s southeast side.
