LA CROSSE/EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – Well, Week 12 was the longest week of fantasy football ever, and a ton happened. The week started with a hefty dosage of games on Thanksgiving, which included some big playmakers. Sunday was action-packed as well, seeing wide receiver Tyreek Hill create history in just the first quarter. Lastly, the Ravens/Steelers game postponed several times led to frustration and annoyance around the league. However, we do have a fantasy leader list! Welcome back to Fantasy Football Leader Breakdown, where the top three quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers, and tight ends will be analyzed and broken down from their latest matchup.
Quarterback #1 – Deshaun Watson = 33.12 Fantasy Points
Deshaun Watson is on the top of the QB leader list for the second week in a row. The Houston Texans quarterback completed 17 of 25 passes for 318 passing yards and four scores. He also added 24 rushing yards in the Thanksgiving victory over the Detroit Lions. Watson was not struggling at all, as he looked almost flawless in the 41-25 victory. Watson’s deep ball to Will Fuller V stole the show, but it also should be noted Watson had zero interceptions. Watson is always a must-start, but it is important to realize that the QB will not have his favorite wide receiver, as Will Fuller V has been suspended for six games for violating the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing substances. However, Watson will continue to look hot in Week 13 as he will take on the Colts.
Projected Points for Week 13 = 20.6
Lucas’ Projections = 18.3
Quarterback #2 – Patrick Mahomes = 31.28 Fantasy Points
Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes continues to amaze the world with his unbelievable performances. Mahomes faced Tom Brady and the Buccaneers in Week 12 and he put together another dominant display/ The young QB was 37-for-49 on the evening for 462 yards and three touchdowns. Mahomes also had no interceptions. Mahomes had a day with his wide receiver, Tyreek Hill, who had 269 yards in receiving. The performance was out of this world. Mahomes is obviously a must-start, and he will look to have another beast performance as he takes on the Denver Broncos in Week 13.
Projected Points for Week 13 = 24.3
Lucas’ Projections = 28.6
Quarterback #3 – Kirk Cousins = 26.18 Fantasy Points
Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins completed 34 of his 45 passes for 307 yards and three touchdowns in the Vikings comeback victory over the Carolina Panthers. Cousins did not have WR Adam Thielen in this matchup, but he did have rookie sensation, Justin Jefferson. Cousins sought out Jefferson for two touchdowns. Quietly, the Minnesota quarterback appears to be on a hot streak. He has had 11 touchdowns over his last four games and is averaging 283 passing yards during that span. This QB can be a great start for next week’s matchup over the Jaguars. Cousins would also be a great QB to have in the backpacker for playoffs.
Projected Points for Week 13 = 16.8
Lucas’ Projections = 20.1
Running back #1 – Derrick Henry = 36.5 Fantasy Points
Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry makes the fantasy leader list once again, this time at the number one spot. Henry had himself a legendary fantasy performance, hauling in a whopping 36.5 fantasy points for his managers. The RB continues to receive more than enough volume, as he carried the ball 27 times for 178 yards and three touchdowns. Henry also added two receptions for seven yards in the Week 12 victory against the Colts. Keep in mind that the Colts Defense was number one in the league, so this performance was huge from Henry. Fantasy owners are extremely thankful for Henry, as they most likely won with the RB rostered. Henry is matchup-proof, as he will take on the Browns next week.
Projected Points for Week 13 = 18.8
Lucas’ Projections = 16.5
Running back #2 – Antonio Gibson = 31.6 Fantasy Points
Washington Football Team rookie running back Antonio Gibson makes it on the fantasy leader list for the first time this season. The rook put on a show during Thanksgiving, turning 20 carries into 115 yards and three touchdowns. This is the second time Gibson rushed for 100-plus yards versus the Dallas Cowboys. The RB also added 21 receiving yards on five catches during the contest. All eyes were on this young running back, and it is safe to say that Gibson is a clear RB1 moving forward and should be started in every matchup. Though it will be tough for Gibson to get something going against a brutal Steelers defense, he can still be locked in.
Projected Points for Week 13 = 11.7
Lucas’ Projections = 12.0
Running back #3 – Latavius Murray = 24.6 Fantasy Points
New Orleans Saints running back Latavius Murray had his best game of the season in his matchup against the Denver Broncos. Usually, Alvin Kamara gets all of the attention, but with Drew Brees out and Taysom Hill in, Murray is getting more opportunities. Murray carried the ball 19 times for 124 yards and two touchdowns. He also caught one ball for two yards on one target. With this quarterback change, Murray could possibly be considered an RB3 or FLX moving forward. The Saints will take on the Falcons in Week 13.
Projected Points for Week 13 = 8.3
Lucas’ Projections = 6.9
Wide receiver #1 – Tyreek Hill = 44.9 Fantasy Points
Wow. Tyreek Hill put on a legendary performance in Week 12 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Kansas City wide receiver brought in 44.9 fantasy points. Hill started the game by hauling in all seven of his targets. He snagged two touchdowns and 203 yards just in the first quarter. Those seven catches for 203 yards were the most for any player in one quarter in over 30 years. However, the ‘Cheetah’ did not stop there. Hill finished the game with a line of 13 catches for 269 yards and three touchdowns. The slippery WR has now scored in all but one game this season. He and his TE teammate Travis Kelce continue to be extremely consistent. It was likely that people who had Hill on their fantasy roster this weekend, won their matchup. Hill is a 100% must start. The Chiefs will face the Broncos in Week 13.
Projected Points for Week 13 = 14.5
Lucas’ Projections = 16.7
Wide receiver #2 – Will Fuller V = 29.1 Fantasy Points
Houston Texans wide receiver Will Fuller V torched the Detroit Lions in his monster Thanksgiving game. Fuller caught six of seven targets for a season-high 171 yards and two touchdowns. Sadly, he will not have a chance to top that this season. Fuller will miss the remainder of the 2020 season after being smacked with a six-game suspension for violation of the league’s performance-enhancing substance policy. Major disappointment fills the hearts of fantasy owners, as Fuller was the number four receiver in the league. This is the end of Will Fuller V for 2020.
Projected Points for Week 13 = SUSSPENDED
Lucas’ Projections = SUSSPENDED
Wide receiver #3 – Jarvis Landry = 20.3 Fantasy Points
Cleveland Browns wide receiver Jarvis Landry had his best performance of the year. The WR had been struggling throughout the season when speaking on fantasy, due to the inaccurate QB Baker Mayfield. However, Landry stepped up as the WR1 with OBJ out for the season. Landry finished the game with eight catches for 143 yards and a touchdown. This 100-yard game was Landry’s first since Week 11 of the 2019 season. The Browns WR would be a boom or bust candidate moving forward, so it is a risky start. The Browns and Landry will take on the Tennessee Titans in Week 13.
Projected Points for Week 13 = 8.6
Lucas’ Projections = 3.9
Tight end #1 – Dallas Goedert = 13.5 Fantasy Points
Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert came up on top of the fantasy leader list in the tight end section. Goedert led the team in all receiving categories in the Monday Night Football matchup against the Seahawks. He was targeted 10 times, which was three more than any other Eagles player. It’s easy to say that QB Carson Wentz has full confidence in his tight end. Goedert caught seven passes gaining 75 yards and a scoring touchdown. Goedert is easily a TE1 and should be started even when tight end Zach Ertz returns to the lineup. The Eagles will take on the Packers in Week 13, and Goedert will look to stay hot.
Projected Points for Week 13 = 5.9
Lucas’ Projections = 7.0
Tight end #2 – Robert Tonyan = 12.7 Fantasy Points
Green Bay Packers tight end Robert Tonyan had himself a solid fantasy performance in the Sunday night blowout victory against the Chicago Bears. Tonyan caught five passes for a team-high 67 receiving yards with one touchdown in the 41-25 victory. The tight end had a few slower weeks since his emergence, but he jumps back on the fantasy radar after his Week 12 performance. Tonyan now has 10 receptions and two touchdowns over his last two games. The Green Bay Packer can be started against the Eagles in Week 13.
Projected Points for Week 13 = 5.9
Lucas’ Projections = 3.2
Tight end #3 – Evan Engram = 10.9 Fantasy Points
Evan Engram had a big day in his matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals. The New York Giant tight end had six catches for 129 yards. This was Engram’s first 100+ yard game this season. It is obvious to start Engram no matter what, as the tight end category is slim with impactful players. The Giants will take on the Seattle Seahawks in Week 13.
Projected Points for Week 13 = 6.4
Lucas’ Projections = 8.7
After an extremely long Week 12 of Fantasy Football, it is likely time for the last week of the fantasy regular season, Week 13. Work on building up those teams for the playoff run and keep your fingers crossed for no more crazy game postponements. Waivers are likely to hit Friday morning, depending on league formats, so be prepared! Good luck in Week 13!
