LA CROSSE/EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – This was the final week of the fantasy football regular season, and it was an extremely fun one! The season flew by, as it usually does, but it’s not over yet! The playoffs are now underway, and everyone is trying their best to come out on top as the fantasy football champion. So, before we all tilt about injuries and underperformances, let’s discuss Week 13’s leaders. Welcome back to Fantasy Football Leader Breakdown, where the top three quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers, and tight ends will be analyzed and broken down from their latest matchup.

Quarterback #1 – Derek Carr = 31.74 Fantasy Points (STD)

Usually, when a team plays the New York Jets, that quarterback is a reliable streaming option for that week. This was the case with Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr. Coming from an absolutely terrible game last week, Derek Carr proved why he should still be rostered in fantasy lineups. Carr threw for 381 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception. The QB also picked up a rushing TD to add to his point-pile. Though the Raiders almost gave the Jets their first win of the season, Carr led the team to victory, 31-28. Carr had 47 pass attempts, which is the most he’s thrown all season. This could’ve been a one-week wonder performance by the QB. Carr and the Raiders will take on a tough Colts defense in Week 14. Is it safe to trust Derek Carr as a QB1 in the first round of fantasy playoffs? Good question.

Projected Points for Week 14 = 16.0

Lucas’ Projections = 13.2

Quarterback #2 – Josh Allen = 30.1 Fantasy Points (STD)

Josh Allen blasts his way into the league’s MVP discussion once again after having an incredible performance on Monday Night Football. Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen shredded the 49ers 34-24. The young QB completed 32 of 40 pass attempts for 375 yards and four touchdowns. He also had zero interceptions in the contest while rushing six times for 11 yards. It appeared Allen could do no wrong and was unstoppable when the ball was in his hands. Allen should be started going into the fantasy playoffs as he is a huge advantage at the QB position. Next week the Buffalo Bills will take on the hungry Pittsburg Steelers, who are coming off of their first loss of the season. Should be a great game!

Projected Points for Week 14 = 21.5

Lucas’ Projections = 18.6

Quarterback #3 – Baker Mayfield = 28.46 Fantasy Points (STD)

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield had one of the most impressive games of his young career. Mayfield completed 25 of 33 passes for 334 yards and four touchdowns in the 41-35 victory over the Tennessee Titans. This win was huge for the Browns, and Mayfield was jacked up the whole game. With non-rainy weather, Mayfield has been producing solid fantasy performances. The QB completed touchdown passes to Jarvis Landry, Donovan People-Jones, Reshard Higgins, and Kendall Lamm in the big victory. If Mayfield can keep this confidence, he should be able to bring in some meaty points. The Browns will take on the Baltimore Ravens in Week 14, and starting Mayfield is in discussion.

Projected Points for Week 14 = 14.7

Lucas’ Projections = 17.9

Running back #1 – David Montgomery = 23.1 Fantasy Points (STD)

Chicago Bears running back David Montgomery carried the ball a whopping 17 times for 72 yards and two touchdowns, allowing a major boost to fantasy scoreboards. The RB also had 39 receiving yards in the heartbreaking 34-30 loss over the Lions at home. Montgomery appeared to be fresh, as he seemed shifty with his running style and overall was efficient. It’s clear to see that Montgomery won’t likely leave you a zero on your fantasy starting lineup, making him a clear RB2 or even RB1 if desperate. The Bears will take on the Texans next week and the Chicago RB should be started.

Projected Points for Week 14 = 14.0

Lucas’ Projections = 16.9

Running back #2 – Aaron Jones = 20.8 Fantasy Points (STD)

Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones makes himself into the leader list for Week 13. Jones carried the ball 15 times for 130 yards and one touchdown. He also added 18 receiving yards in the Packers 30-16 victory over the Eagles. Jones seemed crisp, but what really shined was his 77-yard score that shot his fantasy production up majorly. This was the seventh rushing score of the season for Jones, who remains a solid RB1 heading into the playoffs. The Packers will take on a sloppy Detroit Lion defense in Week 14.

Projected Points for Week 14 = 15.5

Lucas’ Projections = 25.5

Running back #3 – Jonathan Taylor = 19.5 Fantasy Points (STD)

Wisconsin alum and now rookie running back for the Indianapolis Colts, Jonathan Taylor had a great fantasy performance in Week 13 against the Texans. Taylor carried the ball 13 times for 91 yards and caught three passes for 44 yards and a touchdown. The young RB has been struggling this season to get things going, but in his last two games, he has been providing some great fantasy production. Taylor will be a solid RB2 heading into the playoffs, and he should have another solid performance as the Colts will take on the Raiders in Week 14.

Projected Points for Week 14 = 11.2

Lucas’ Projections = 17.3

Wide receiver #1 – Corey Davis = 24.2 Fantasy Points (STD)

Despite the big loss to the Browns, Tennessee Titans wide receiver Corey Davis had himself a huge fantasy performance in the Week 13 contest. Davis hauled in 11 receptions on 12 targets for 182 yards and a touchdown, racking up 24 fantasy points. As running back Derrick Henry and wide receiver A.J. Brown drew a ton of focus to the defense, Davis shined bright. Roster Davis if he is still available on waivers, as he is an extremely skillful player. He will be a solid WR2 heading into the playoffs, especially next week as he will take on the Jaguars.

Projected Points for Week 14 = 9.5

Lucas’ Projections = 14.3

Wide receiver #2 – Davante Adams = 24.1 Fantasy Points (STD)

Devante Adams, wide receiver for the Green Bay Packers, is truly remarkable. The beast caught 10 passes for 121 yards and two touchdowns in the 30-16 victory over the Eagles in Week 13. It’s easy to see the strong connection between Aaron Rodgers and Devante Adams. The WR now has 13 touchdowns on the season and has a score in each of his last seven games. He also has 100+ receiving yards in four of his last seven games. Adams remains a locked and loaded WR1 and will look to rip up a weak Lions defense in Week 14.

Projected Points for Week 14 = 17.1

Lucas’ Projections = 20.5

Wide receiver #3 – Cole Beasley = 19 Fantasy Points (STD)

Age doesn’t stop Buffalo Bills wide receiver Cole Beasley from having a huge fantasy game. The 31-year-old vet hauled in nine of his 11 targets for 130 yards and one touchdown in the Week 13 win over the 49ers on Monday Night Football. Beasley is on a hot streak, having 100 receiving yards two times in the last three weeks. With WR John Brown out, Beasley gets more time to shine. The WR is a great FLX option moving forward in the playoffs. However, the Bills do take on a tough Steelers Defense in Week 14, but Beasley can be started.

Projected Points for Week 14 = 7.6

Lucas’ Projections = 10.3

Tight end #1 – Darren Waller = 32 Fantasy Points (STD)

Las Vegas Raiders tight end Darren Waller exploded in Week 13 of fantasy football. Waller ended the 31-28 victory of the Jets with 13 catches on 17 targets for 200 yards and two touchdowns. Fantasy owners of Waller were pleased as his performance provided a huge advantage in this week’s matchup. This was the most targets, yards, and tied for the most receptions that Waller has produced in his career. Waller now has 77 receptions on the year. Though fantasy owners cannot expect this type of performance next week against the Colts defense, he should still be started.

Projected Points for Week 14 = 9.8

Lucas’ Projections = 4.6

Tight end #2 – Travis Kelce = 19.6 Fantasy Points (STD)

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce dominates once again on Sunday Night Football. Kelce went off and caught eight of his 13 targets for 136 yards and a touchdown in the 16-22 victory over the Denver Broncos. The 31-year-old continues to dominate in fantasy lineups, creating happiness for his fantasy owners. The conversation has been had all season long, and that is ‘always start Travis Kelce’. The tight end and the Chiefs will take on the solid Dolphins defense in Week 14.

Projected Points for Week 14 = 12.0

Lucas’ Projections = 16.4

Tight end #3 – Dan Arnold = 18.1 Fantasy Points (STD)

Who’s Dan Arnold? Well, he was the Arizona Cardinals’ top weapon in the passing game in Wek 13 against the Los Angeles Rams. The tight end led the team, catching two of his three targets for 61 yards and two touchdowns. Arnold only had one touchdown reception all year before this matchup. Though Arnold is the top pass-catching tight end for the team, his workload has been too limited to rely on him in the fantasy playoffs. Stay away from Dan Arnold.

Projected Points for Week 14 = 2.8

Lucas’ Projections = 3.0

It was an eventful Week 13, and now the fantasy playoffs start! Keep upgrading that roster and fingers crossed for no COVID-19 complications. Good luck to everyone in the playoffs and good luck to everyone next year if they did not make the playoffs. Stay positive and do not tilt!
