Lambeau Field is on a road trip, so to speak, around the state of Wisconsin, allowing Packer fans to experience the thrills of Lambeau Field and team history as part of the franchise’s 100 Seasons celebration.
Since Wednesday, the 123rd annual Northern Wisconsin State Fair in Chippewa Falls has hosted the traveling exhibit. The fair, which has enjoyed near-perfect weather so far, concludes on Sunday evening, July 14.
Lambeau Field Live, presented by Associated Bank, is free for all fair attendees. The Packers’ 100 Seasons celebration started June 2018 and will span 16 months, culminating with the franchise’ 100th birthday on Aug. 11, 2019.
Lambeau Field Live features the award-winning “Interact with the Pack Virtual Photo Experience,” a virtual reality booth presented by Patrick Cudahy, Play60 activities, Packers history presentation, alumni players Q&A, and prize giveaways sponsored by Kwik Trip.
Former Green Bay cornerback Willie Buchanon is the featured Packers alumni player.
“There’s nothing like Green Bay Packers fans,” Buchanon said Thursday afternoon. “It’s great to meet them here at the fair in Chippewa Falls.”
Lambeau Field Live’s first stop was at Summerfest in Milwaukee June 26-July 7. After its Chippewa Falls visit, Lambeau Field Live continues on to the Racine County Fair in Union Grove July 24-28, the Wisconsin State Fair in West Allis August 1-11, and Taste of Madison August 31-Sept 1.
“We only turn 100 once, and we wanted to make it memorable and impactful,” said Joan Malcheski, Packers director of brand and marketing.
“Not everyone has a game ticket or can make it to Green Bay and Lambeau Field. Our goal was is to take Lambeau Field on a road trip.”
