GREEN BAY, Wis. (WLAX/WEUX) – Kevin King did not end his 2020 season on the best of notes, giving up two touchdown passes and getting flagged for a PI on Tampa Bay’s final drive to allow the future Super Bowl champions to run out the clock in the NFC Championship game at Lambeau Field.
But the fourth-year cornerback will be back in a Packers uniform in 2021, as ESPN and the NFL Network confirmed King signed a one-year deal worth $6 million to remain in Green Bay.
Despite an inconsistent season, the 25-year-old King has been a staple along side Pro Bowl Bowler Jaire Alexander in the Packers defensive backfield when healthy.
King totaled 57 tackles and started all 11 regular-season games in which he appeared and missed five games with a quad injury. He had no interceptions but made a huge fumble recovery and return against Carolina on a goal-line stand to change the game’s momentum.
Green Bay retained two starters in the fold in King and running back Aaron Jones, while losing Pro Bowl center Corey Linsley to the Los Angeles Chargers.
