(WLAX/WEUX) – While Packers fans lament another disappointing loss in the NFC Championship, Sunday’s match-up between Kansas City and Tampa Bay is one for the ages.
Tom Brady: the GOAT with six rings, willing the Buccaneers to a Super Bowl in his first season with the team at age 43. Patrick Mahomes: the young gun and reigning Super Bowl MVP attempting to lead his team again to the NFL’s ultimate prize: the Lombardi Trophy.
I must confess I’m amazed the NFL has reached this point without missing a single game in this Covid-19 riddled season. An stellar accomplishment with more than 260 games played by 32 teams across the country in a pandemic. A true testament to the league, players, and staffs working toward a common goal.
I hope I never again am seated in the press box at an empty Lambeau Field or U.S. Bank Stadium. Makes me appreciate the loyal fans around the league.
2020 will go down in history as one that can never be replicated or matched.
So here’s my prediction: Chiefs 37, Bucs 31. (My boss has Tampa by a 27-24 margin).
Patrick Mahomes is that special. The Kansas City offense, banged up OL and all, has too many weapons and too much speed. Even for a stellar defense like Tampa Bay’s. Brady will have his moments in their home stadium, but the young gun prevails.
